ATTORNEY PROFILE

Dirk is an experienced litigator, representing insurers in disputes with respect to complex general liability, directors and officers (D&O) liability, employment practices liability, professional liability, first-party property (including business interruption), media, and cyber matters. 

 

Dirk is highly sought-after for his expertise in handling coverage litigation actions in New York.  He also routinely represents and counsels insurers in coverage and bad faith matters around the country.

 

Dirk’s practice also includes representing corporate clients in a broad range of complex litigation matters, including cases involving contract disputes, construction law, product liability, and employment discrimination and harassment.

 

Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Dirk is trilingual in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.  Dirk grew up in Atlanta, and moved to New York City in 2001 to attend Fordham Law School.  Prior to joining KSLN, Dirk was an attorney at an Am Law 200 trial and litigation firm and, more recently, at a global law firm based out of London.  When not in the office, Dirk can be found plying his other trade (soccer) at the Pier 40 pitch or learning the “sweet science” at Trinity Boxing Club.
