MATT RONAN

Matt is co-chair of KSLN’s insurance coverage practice and represents regional, national, and international insurers in both litigated and non-litigated matters.  Matt represents his clients in complex insurance coverage actions throughout New York in both state and federal courts, including all New York federal district courts and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.  On occasion, Matt also represents clients outside of New York pro hac vice.  Matt devotes a significant portion of his practice to advising clients on coverage issues outside of litigation, both with respect to demands for coverage made to his clients and identifying and pursuing risk transfer opportunities.  Matt also helps clients with policy drafting to ensure the coverage provided by the policy and the risk the client intends to insure are one and the same. 

 

Matt has been a part of the coverage group at KSLN since he joined the team as a law clerk while still in law school.  Substantively, Matt’s practice focuses on all manner of coverage issues, including those arising out of underlying construction accidents and claims, intellectual property claims, environmental liability, products liability, discrimination claims, professional liability, errors and omissions coverage, bad faith claims, and more.  Matt most enjoys spending his free time outdoors, including hiking, canoeing, and skiing with his wife and two daughters.  Matt is also an avid cyclist and trail runner.
