Kenney Shelton Liptak Nowak LLP are honored to share that Tom Cunningham has been admitted to the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (NADN) —a professional distinction that recognizes experienced mediators and arbitrators who have demonstrated excellence, integrity, and effectiveness in the field of dispute resolution.

NADN is an invitation-only organization whose members are selected through a rigorous peer review process. Admission is limited to neutrals who have a proven track record of resolving complex disputes and who are highly regarded by attorneys, litigants, and fellow professionals. “Being included among this group is both humbling and deeply meaningful,” said Tom.

Mediation and arbitration offer parties the opportunity to resolve disputes more efficiently, cost-effectively, and collaboratively than traditional litigation—often preserving business relationships and allowing for more creative, practical solutions. Serving as a neutral requires not only subject-matter expertise, but also sound judgment, patience, and the ability to earn the trust of all parties involved.

Throughout Tom’s career, he has conducted over 200 mediations and remains committed to helping parties navigate difficult disputes with professionalism and respect. Whether facilitating settlement discussions or serving as an arbitrator, Tom’s focus has always been on creating a fair process, encouraging productive dialogue, and working toward resolutions that reflect the interests and realities of the parties. Admission to the NADN affirms that commitment and reinforces the importance of neutrality, preparation, and credibility in this work.

Tom expressed, “This recognition is also a reflection of the many attorneys, clients, and colleagues who have entrusted me with their matters over the years. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with professionals who approach dispute resolution thoughtfully and in good faith, and I continue to learn from every case and every conversation. Being part of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals is an honor, and I am proud to stand alongside professionals who share a commitment to excellence in resolving disputes.”

As the use of mediation and arbitration continues to grow, Tom looks forward to expanding his work as a neutral and contributing to the advancement of alternative dispute resolution.
