A founding and Managing Partner, Judi Co-Chairs our insurance coverage litigation practice representing regional, national and international primary and excess insurers in complex commercial coverage litigation in all state and federal courts across New York. Her clients include major international and national insurers, specialty insurers, surplus lines carriers, managing general agents, third party administrators, and brokers and agents.
Her focus in insurance law at the trial and appellate level has included litigating construction-related coverage disputes; wrap-up liability insurance programs; owners and contractors insurance issues; environmental liability; mass and toxic tort; intellectual property liability; professional and officer and director liability; products liability; E&O coverage; healthcare-related issues; first and third-party property and casualty claims; extracontractual liability; and excess coverage issues. Judi’s insurance industry representation also often involves consultation and training in the effective and appropriate handling of claims, underwriting issues including insurance policy drafting, risk transfer issues, and strategic issues involving dispute prevention and resolution.
Outside the office, Judi’s life centers around her partner Dan and daughters Rachel and Jen, her family and friends, and the natural world. Her gear pile says it all: skis, snowboard, snowshoes, shovel, kayak paddle, waders, fly rods, snorkel, even a borrowed saddle.
